地球关键带科学与水文土壤学研究进展

摘要

地球关键带是地球表层系统中土壤圈与大气圈、生物圈、水圈、岩石圈物质迁移和能量交换的交汇区域,在垂直方向上包括从植被冠层到地下含水层的区域。地球关键带是维系地球生态系统功能和人类生存的关键区域,水和土壤是其主要组成部分。水文土壤学是土壤学和水文学的一门新兴交叉学科,综合研究不同时空尺度土壤与水的相互作用关系,在地球关键带研究中处于重要位置。本文介绍了地球关键带科学与水文土壤学的内涵、特点与发展历程,总结了二者研究的热点问题及发展趋势,并展望了未来研究方向。

Science and Hydropedology of Earth’s Critical Zone. Recent Advances

Abstract

Critical zones of the Earth range from vegetation at the top, down to the bottom of the aquifer, encompassing near-surface biosphere and atmosphere, the entire pedosphere, surface and near surface portion of the hydrosphere and lithosphere. The critical zones sustain ecosystem function and most terrestrial life. Soil and water are very important components of the critical zones. Hydropedology is an emerging intertwined branch of soil science and hydrology that studies interactions between soil and water across spatiotemporal scales, and plays an important role in the integrated studies of the Earth’s critical zones by linking different disciplines (ecohydrology, biogeochemistry, and others) together. In the present paper the concepts, features and development of the science and hydropedology of Earth’s critical zones are introduced, their hot scientific issues and development trends are reviewed, and their future directions are discussed.
