A brief introduction to the  "Journal of Beijing Normal University (Natural Science)"

   The "Journal of Beijing Normal University (Natural Science)", sponsored by Beijing Normal University and supervised by State Ministry of Education, is a general publication for natural science research. The journal started publication in 1956; it is a bimonthly and is openly distributed. The China standard serial numbering for this journal is ISSN 0476 0301, CN11 1991/N. The journal publishes research papers written by scientists and scholars in Beijing Normal University, the subjects cover mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, geography, astronomy, technology and some interdisciplinary fields, including the fundamental and applied research. The journal shows the academic achievement of the university and develops research exchanges with other internal or overseas institutions. The audiences are scientists in China and also abroad.
   The chairman of the editorial board for the journal is professor Sun Ruyong, an ecologist and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The editorial board consists of teaching professors in various fields of natural science. The editorª²inª²chief is professor Chen Haoyuan, the viceª²chairman of "China Editologica Society of Science Periodicals".
  The journal organizer pays great attention to quality improvement of both research presentations and editorial work, and tries best to make the journal among the first class scientific periodicals in China and having certain impact abroad. In recent years, 85% of the papers published in the journal are supported by the National Natural Science Fund Committee of China, the National 863 High Technology Project, and other research fund from State Ministry of Education. The journal is among the celebrated scientific periodicals in China, and has been accepted as a journal source by about 30 wellª²known internal or international data bases and abstracts periodicals.
  During the last decade of the twentieth century, the journal received the following Reward from the government: the Excellent Science Periodical Prize in the first class, issued by State Ministry of Education in 1992, 1996 and 1999 respectively; the National Excellent Science Periodical Prize in the first class in 1992 and 1996. In 2000 and 2002  the journal received the  National Periodical Prize, the highest reward for periodicals in China.
